Young Pro­fes­sional Lead­er­ship Exchange Track

 

NACHC invites indi­vid­u­als in the early stages of their pro­fes­sional career to par­tic­i­pate in a brand-new Young Pro­fes­sional Lead­er­ship Exchange track at this year’s Com­mu­nity Health Insti­tute (CHI) & EXPO. With an expan­sive net­work of clin­ics and an ever-increas­ing patient pop­u­la­tion of more than 24 mil­lion, America’s Health Cen­ters are now more than ever look­ing to the next gen­er­a­tion of lead­ers to con­tinue the mis­sion of high-qual­ity, cost-effec­tive, and cul­tur­ally-com­pe­tent health care for all. Join other young pro­fes­sion­als through­out this track for var­i­ous net­work­ing oppor­tu­ni­ties and edu­ca­tional ses­sions that will speak to future chal­lenges and oppor­tu­ni­ties to fur­ther the health cen­ter move­ment. Learn what skills and expe­ri­ences to seek in order to advance your lead­er­ship poten­tial while simul­ta­ne­ously net­work­ing and form­ing friend­ships with the next gen­er­a­tion of health cen­ter lead­ers. Advo­cate for your­self, your career, and the health cen­ter move­ment by par­tic­i­pat­ing in this excit­ing new learn­ing oppor­tu­nity.

Get to know your fel­low health cen­ter young pro­fes­sion­als bet­ter! Dur­ing this fast-paced net­work­ing event, YPs will spend 5 min­utes each with sev­eral young pro­fes­sional peers from across the coun­try. You’ll leave this event with valu­able new rela­tion­ships that will help inspire you in your work and build the bonds nec­es­sary to move the health cen­ter move­ment for­ward.

CMB1 — Career Devel­op­ment and Suc­ces­sion Plan­ning in the Com­mu­nity and Migrant Health Cen­ter World

Effec­tive suc­ces­sion plan­ning hap­pens at all lev­els of the orga­ni­za­tional struc­ture and is mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary in scope. Attend this ses­sion to bet­ter under­stand all of the com­po­nents includ­ing the role of young pro­fes­sion­als in suc­cess­ful health cen­ter lead­er­ship tran­si­tions.

CMB2 — Beyond Grant Writing—Development Strate­gies from the Field

Learn best prac­tices from cen­ters that look at devel­op­ment and fundrais­ing beyond grant writ­ing includ­ing plan­ning for spe­cial events, indi­vid­ual donor devel­op­ment, and cor­po­rate dona­tions. Iden­tify the staffing and resources needed to effec­tively broaden a health center’s fundrais­ing capa­bil­i­ties, con­ver­sa­tions boards should have with lead­er­ship to bet­ter under­stand the fundrais­ing needs of a cen­ter, and how to suc­cess­fully tran­si­tion “con­nec­tions” when there is a lead­er­ship change. Attend this ses­sion to learn more about the nec­es­sary devel­op­ment and lead­er­ship skills to diver­sify your health center’s fund­ing streams.

CMB3 — Bring Your Pas­sion: Tales from Health Cen­ter Lead­ers on Their Drive to Fur­ther the Health Cen­ter Move­ment – P2P NETWORKING SESSION

Spend 90 min­utes with fel­low Young Pro­fes­sion­als as cur­rent health cen­ter lead­ers share what expe­ri­ences have pushed them to become lead­ers in this excit­ing move­ment. Dur­ing the first part of the ses­sion, hear from cur­rent health cen­ter lead­ers as they share their sto­ries and what drove them to become the lead­ers they are today. Then, ben­e­fit from dis­cus­sion regard­ing the role young pro­fes­sion­als play in the future of health cen­ters. Bring your pas­sion to the table and learn how to uti­lize your skills to become the next gen­er­a­tion of health cen­ter lead­ers.

CTuB1 — Best Prac­tices and Lessons Learned for Col­lect­ing and Using Data on the Social Deter­mi­nants of Health

In today’s value-based pay envi­ron­ment, it is impor­tant to take a broader view of health and pro­vide com­pre­hen­sive ser­vices to care for all of the needs of health cen­ter patients and com­mu­ni­ties. The Pro­to­col for Respond­ing to and Assess­ing Patients’ Assets, Risks, and Expe­ri­ences (PRAPARE) is a national effort to help health cen­ters and other providers col­lect and apply the data they need to bet­ter under­stand their patients’ social risk fac­tors and to address the social deter­mi­nants of health to ulti­mately improve health out­comes and achieve total cost-sav­ings. Attend this ses­sion to learn more about PRAPARE and how to com­pre­hen­sively meet the needs of patients and com­mu­ni­ties.

CTuB2 — Lead­er­ship 2020 Out­come: Skills Needed in Your C-Suite

What skills do the next gen­er­a­tion of C-suite health cen­ter lead­ers need? Attend this ses­sion to hear what cur­rent C-suite lead­ers and board mem­bers think will be nec­es­sary to pre­pare health cen­ters for the com­ing years.
